Jason M. Hurst, MD

Dr. Hurst:

• Joined Joint Implant Surgeons in 2009.

• Member of US Ski Team Physican Pool.

• Spent two years doing research in sports medicine at Duke University.

• Received specialty training in Joint Preservation and Sports Medicine at the esteemed Steadman-Hawkins Clinic.

• Member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

• Helped start the Joint Preservation Institute at Joint Implant Surgeons.

Dr. Jason Hurst was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, and received his bachelor's degree from Washington & Lee University. After graduating from college, he spent two years doing research in sports medicine at Duke University before obtaining his medical degree from Georgetown University. He returned to Duke University for orthopaedic surgery training and continued to participate in sports medicine research. At the conclusion of his orthopaedic residency, Dr. Hurst sought specialty training in joint preservation and sports medicine of the hip, knee, and shoulder at the esteemed Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy, the Piedmont Society, and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His clinical interests include hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement and arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement, joint preservation, cartilage restoration, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, osteotomy, and sports related injury. Dr. Hurst joined us in August 2009 and will help start the Joint Preservation Institute at Joint Implant Surgeons, Inc. dedicated to the treatment of joint problems in the younger, active patient.
